Summary

The Laborer position performs various tasks related to Roads and Grounds maintenance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Cuts grass using riding mower, tractor, or batwing mower.
2. Trims hedges and edges around walks, flower beds, and wells, using powered clipper, weed eater, and edger.
3. Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using power tools.
4. Plants grass, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
5. Picks up and removes leaves, paper, or other litter.
6. Repairs and paints fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings.
7. May clean comfort stations, office and workshop areas, and building gutters and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping, and polishing.
8. May operate lift/bucket truck to trim trees.
9. May operate paint machine for parking lot striping.
10. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• Minimum of one (1) year of general ground maintenance experience using power tools.
• A valid Georgia Driver’s License; CDL preferred.
• Ability to maintain military gate pass access.
• Must be able to drive company-owned vehicles on a Federal Installation.
• Must be 21 years or older.

Work Environment

Requires on-call rotation. Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, chemicals, and weather conditions. Use of protective gear may be necessary.
