Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate vacuum trucks and hydro-excavation units to clean sewer lines.
• Perform jetting and flushing for wastewater systems maintenance.
• Assist with emergency response for sewer overflows and backups.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Vactor Truck laborer/driver to support our wastewater collection system inspection, maintenance, and repair operations.

The ideal candidate will operate combination sewer cleaning equipment. Sewer maintenance experience ranging in pipe sizes ranging from 6” – 72”.

Responsibilities

• Performs laborer duties as assigned.
• Vac Truck operations:
  1. Operate vacuum trucks and hydro-excavation units to clean and remove debris from sewer lines, manholes, lift stations, and storm drains.
  2. Perform jetting and flushing to maintain proper flow in wastewater systems.
  3. Assist with emergency response efforts including sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) and flood-related backups.
• General Duties:
  1. Follow all OSHA safety procedures and company policies.
  2. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report mechanical issues.
  3. Maintain accurate logs and records of work completed.
  4. Communicate with supervisors, engineers, and GIS personnel regarding system findings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid CDL Class B or A with tanker endorsement.
• Understanding of DOT regulations, electronic driver logs and required pre and post trip inspections.
• Minimum 1 year experience in wastewater collection systems or similar field.
• Knowledge of confined space entry procedures.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
