Job summary

ASR Group is seeking a Packaging Laborer for entry-level, physically demanding work in our packaging department. You may be assigned to any station, performing tasks such as packing, sealing, weighing, and moving sugar products with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Expect to stand 6-8+ hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and wear PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, hard hat). Weekend/overtime shifts may be required in a noisy food packing environment.

OVERVIEW

The Packaging Laborer may be assigned to a variety of packaging,cleaningor reprocessing positions. The Packaging Laborer may be assigned to any station or location in the Packaging Department. This is an entry level position requiring continuous heavy labor activities. Assignments may include repetitive hand, arm, and body movements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Position performs necessaryfunctionrequiredto package,sealand convey sugar packages and various packingstationproducing product in weights from 1 to 2000 pounds.

Station tasks could include check weighing, cutting-in of damage packages, station cleaning,sortingand stacking of station materials and packaging containers, lifting packaged materials weighing 24 to 50 pounds for hand palletizing and check weighing and other tasks as assigned.

Operates industrial hand trucks to transport palletized materials.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

This position requires flexibility toworkvarious shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.

Positions require standing and walking 6-8+ hours per day, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, ability to grasp, push, and pull.

Position isrequiredto wear PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearingprotectionand hard hat.

Packaging stations are noisy (hearing protection isrequired)andconditions are associated with a food packing environment. Packaging Laborer is exposed to refined sugar and sugar dust, cleaning soaps,lubricantsand work around moving equipment.

PAY RATE

Hourly Rate: $27.10
