Position Summary

The Maintenance Staff is responsible for various equipment and facility maintenance needs. Position will also assist in a variety of non-skilled engineering duties as events require. This role will pay an hourly wage of $22 to $25.

About the Venue

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Providence, the RICC is within walking distance to restaurants, hotels, shops, art galleries, night clubs, museums, and more. We offer 100,000 square feet of exhibition space, 20,000 square feet of ballroom space, 23 meeting rooms, and 30,000 square feet of pre-function space.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for event maintenance needs such as maintenance repairs, unlocking doors, talking radio calls, etc. as needed.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of facility doors, hardware, millwork/carpentry, seats, furniture, rails, staging, fixtures, locksmith, painting, and associated equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor time, parts used, work accomplished through daily logs, maintenance software, and allocation sheets.
  • Perform a variety of corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Clearly, effectively, and timely communicate work issues with Maintenance and Operations staff.
  • Read & interpret blueprints, specifications, show drawings, schematic manufacturer’s specifications, and other reference materials to determine appropriate job requirements and procedures.
  • Perform inspections to ensure proper safety on various equipment.
  • Execute general repairs and adjustments to equipment used in building and maintenance work, including emergency repairs as required.
  • Use and maintain various meters, test instruments, drills, saws, and other power and hand tools.
  • Liaison between Maintenance and Operations teams to facilitate shared use of specialized engineering tools.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of basic general maintenance experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have availability to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Must be accurate and efficient with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working with all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work various hours for events and event needs.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds.
