Job Responsibilities: Responsible for tasks such as locating, laying, repairing, and extending underground water mains and distribution pipes, among other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Key Accountabilities
  • Set up barricades and safety lights around the work site to protect workers from traffic. Break asphalt and concrete using pneumatic tools for trenching and compaction.
  • Manually dig valve and curb boxes using shovels and digging bars. Guide pipe sections, valves, and fittings into position and hold steady during connections.
  • Connect to pressurized water mains, flare, and connect copper piping.
  • Install repair clamps on pressurized mains and service lines.
  • Operate valves and fire hydrants, investigate complaints, and determine corrective actions.
  • Operate pneumatic and hydraulic boring equipment. Complete forms, sketches, and field notes, and use maps and records effectively.
  • Inspect and operate valves and hydrants to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Drive vehicles and trucks, maintaining cleanliness and safety.
  • Assist other personnel and perform tasks as assigned by the supervisor or crew leader.
Experience/Education

High School diploma or recognized equivalent required.

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Overtime availability as needed.
  • Must obtain a CDL license.
Other Requirements

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Preferred: Class A CDL and backhoe experience.
