Job summary

The Oklahoma Military Department at the Oklahoma City Military Complex is seeking a Laborer III to perform traditional janitorial services and maintain essential janitorial supplies. You will vacuum, mop, clean windows, dust, and properly dispose of trash, while keeping bathrooms stocked and maintained.

You will monitor stock levels, order supplies, and assist with weekend and event readiness. The role requires lifting up to 40 pounds and working in varied environmental conditions.

Qualifications

  • One year experience in building or institutional custodial work.
  • Ability to lift/carry a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions (Over 95 Degrees F and below 20 Degrees F).
  • Knowledge of custodial, general building, and mechanical trades.

Responsibilities

  • Perform traditional janitorial services including vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning windows/glass, dusting, and trash disposal.
  • Keep bathrooms clean including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, partitions, floors, walls and stocked supplies.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory of supplies; stock buildings for daily and drill weekend needs.
  • Inspect buildings and grounds and report maintenance needs to supervisor.

The state also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.**Basic Purpose:** The purpose of this job is to perform traditional janitorial services and maintain essential janitorial supplies.**Essential Functions:**· Perform traditional janitorial services to include but not limited to vacuuming carpets, mopping/waxing floors, cleaning windows/glass, dusting, and proper disposal of trash refuse. Responsible to keep bathrooms cleaned to include toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, partitions, floors, walls, fixtures, and paper supplies stocked.· Maintains and monitors inventory of supplies needed to keep the buildings properly stocked and clean.· Orders, receives and stock supplies necessary as needed to keep stock levels at proper levels, not only for normal weekday operations but also to keep buildings stocked for drill weekend or big event usage.· Continuously monitors and inspects buildings for items requiring facility maintenance. Responsible to dust and clean light fixtures and air registers on regular basis. Replace burnt out light bulbs as needed. Notifies appropriate personnel of items requiring facility maintenance.· Developing a clear understanding of customer’s needs and following through with dialogue to ensure communication is understood by both parties.· Keeping others informed and up-to-date about tasks and projects by providing as much information as necessary for others to resolve common issues or problems.· Inspects buildings and grounds to identify areas for improvement and report to supervisor the findings.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
