Job summary

Peak Utility Infrastructure in Colorado is seeking a dependable Construction/Laborer to support underground utility projects. This non-exempt role involves manual labor, operating basic equipment, and following safety procedures on residential and commercial sites.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, CDL A, ability to lift up to 80 lbs, and willingness to pass background checks and a drug screen. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus as crews may serve diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew leader in construction/reconstruction and maintenance work
• Assist equipment operators, swamping, hand digging, locating underground obstructions
• Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
• Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump trucks
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards

Pay Rate: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

Essential Functions:

These crews are responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist crew leader in construction/ reconstruction and maintenance work
• Assist equipment operators, swamping, hand digging, locating underground obstructions
• Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other necessary tools
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
• Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump truck
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards

Success Factors:

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
• Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
• Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
• Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
• Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
• English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
• Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent desired
• Experience working with underground utilities desired
• CDL A is required for this position
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

• Possession of a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required.
• Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
