Job summary

Peak Utility Infrastructure is seeking a construction crew member to support underground utility projects in residential and commercial areas. You will work with a crew to complete daily tasks, perform heavy manual labor, and operate basic tools while following safety protocols.

Requirements include a High school diploma or equivalent, CDL A, and the ability to pass background and drug tests. The role pays $26.00–$30.00 per hour and is a non-exempt position with opportunities to learn new skills.

  • Signal equipment operators to coordinate alignment and movement of machinery.

Pay Rate: $26.00 - $30.00

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

These crews are responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist crew leader in construction/ reconstruction and maintenance work
  • Assist equipment operators, swamping, hand digging, locating underground obstructions
  • Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other necessary tools
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
  • Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump truck
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards

Success Factors:

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
  • Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
  • English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
  • Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • Experience working with underground utilities desired
  • CDL A is required for this position
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
