Description: These crews handle underground utility work in residential and commercial settings, working as part of a team to accomplish daily objectives.

Pay Rate: $20 - $22 per hour DOE

Essential Functions

Roles And Responsibilities

• Assist the crew leader in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance tasks.
• Support equipment operators, including swamping, hand digging, and locating underground obstructions.
• Operate specialized equipment like jackhammers, rotary drills, and power fasteners.
• Signal machinery operators to assist with equipment alignment and movement.
• Work safely around heavy machinery such as backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks.
• Prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Success Factors

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods under adverse conditions.
• Capability to lift up to 80 lbs repeatedly.
• Willingness to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, and on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Work well independently and in a team.
• Pass motor vehicle, criminal background checks, and adhere to drug-free policies.
• English proficiency for record-keeping and communication.
• Willingness to learn additional skills.

Experience And Education

Additional Requirements

• Valid State Driver’s License is required.
• Must pass criminal, MVR checks, and pre-employment drug screening.
