Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely executes field craft operations (i.e., field mechanical work, miscellaneous maintenance, construction, etc.), consistent with standard acceptable practices for such work.
  • Work may involve heavy physical labor, various mechanical equipment operations and use of hand tools in a professional craftsman like manner, while ensuring work is performed in compliance with contract specifications.
  • May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, clean up rubble and debris.
  • Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Education, Experience and Requirements

  • 1or more years related experience is preferred.
  • Responsible for performing inspection duties at various stages of project operations for code and contract specification compliance.
  • Perform tasks involving physical labor at heavy construction project site.
  • May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, concrete mixers, shovels, rakes, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
  • May assist other craft workers.
  • May be flagging trucks and traffic on the construction site.
  • Must receive a satisfactory pre-hire drug screen and background check.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements.
  • Willingness to work within the union.
