Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. in Boardman, OR is seeking a Laborer Heavy Trainee to support production operations, break down totes, stack cases, and assist cold room staff during breaks and lunches.

This entry-level role emphasizes safety, stamina, and reliability. You will receive hands-on training, work in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment, and have opportunities to grow within a global leader in frozen potato products.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
• Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 12 hours per work day with loud noise, heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smells and allergies.
• Ability to perform repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements and to work with hands overhead.
• Ability to operate work related equipment.
• Specific vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Hand stack (palletize) finished product cases pallets.
• Monitor product codes on the outside of the box for legibility.
• Monitor case condition for tears or signs of product leakage.
• Break down empty totes and band sets of totes for shipping.
• Ensure Case Erector staging area is full at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Operate controls to dump totes of product into hoppers.
• Flex to other jobs as needed to cover breaks and meals.

Job Description Summary

This positions’ general purpose is to break down empty totes, separating the good and bad totes, hand stacking cases on to the pallets according to customer specifications, and by assisting the cold room personnel for breaks and lunches.

• Monitor overall case condition for tears and/or signs of product leakage.
• Break down empty production totes and band sets of totes together to be shipped.
• Ensure Case Erector staging area is full at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Operate controls to dump totes of product into hoppers.
• Flex to other jobs as needed to cover for rest and meal periods.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Environment/Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
• Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 12 hours per work day to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies.
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
• Ability to operate work related equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation.
• Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.
