Job description

The selected candidate will function as a member of the Grounds Section team, assisting in the landscaping maintenance and upkeep of Keesler AFB grounds.

Responsibilities
  • Use zero-turn riding mowers to cut grass
  • Use weed eaters and edging tools for grounds maintenance finishing work
  • Operate chain saws, hedge trimmers, clippers, and other hand tools to maintain shrubs and trees
  • Care for flower beds, shrubs, and trees
  • Perform general grounds policing for leaves, litter, and other cleanup tasks
  • Perform other related grounds upkeep duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Two years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of practices, methods, tools, and equipment of ground maintenance
  • Understanding of hazards and standard safety precautions in the trade
  • Possess a valid Mississippi Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain a position of public trust
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience performing similar work on a military base
