Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a Laborer/Groundman to perform essential manual labor on utility and infrastructure projects across Florida. You will assist skilled tradespeople, maintain a safe work environment, and help ensure timely project completion.

Responsibilities include digging, trenching, lifting and moving materials, cleaning sites, operating basic hand and power tools under supervision, and supporting setup of work areas and temporary structures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Experience in construction or manual labor is helpful but not required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Able to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods.
• Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
• Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.

• Assist with installation and removal of temporary structures and barricades.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or project managers.

Job Overview

Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a Laborer/Groundman to perform essential manual labor and support tasks for various construction projects, primarily in utility and infrastructure settings. This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople, maintaining a safe work environment, and contributing to the efficient completion of projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor, including digging, trenching, lifting, carrying, and moving materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist equipment operators, electricians, pipefitters, and other skilled tradespeople with tasks such as loading/unloading materials, setting up work areas, and providing support as needed.
• Operate hand tools and power tools under supervision, including shovels, rakes, jackhammers, tampers, and small power saws.
• Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris, hazardous materials, and obstructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety meetings.
• Spot equipment and vehicles to ensure safe operation and movement on site.
• Assist with the installation and removal of temporary structures, shoring, and barricades.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or project managers.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Prior experience in construction, manual labor, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions diligently.
• Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation is often required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
