Job Title:

Laborer - Williamsburg

Department:

Grading

Reports to:

Grading Foreman

Major Role and Purpose:

• Performs various unskilled tasks associated with heavy highway construction

Description of Duties:

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures, using appropriate tools and equipment
• Shovel dirt, stone, and asphalt
• Use various manual tools such as shovel, broom, pick, mattock, axe, brush hook, rake, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer/drill, tamps, concrete saw, sledgehammer, and other related tools
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Education:

• High School Diploma preferred

Work Experience:

• Previous construction experience preferred

Physical Demands:

• Movements include stretching, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching, and squatting
• Walking or standing may occupy the entire day
• Potential exposure to extreme hot or cold weather
• Overtime work required
• Valid Driver's License with transportation to/from job sites
