Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a Construction/Laborer to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems at jobsites.

This role requires domestic travel and a strong focus on safety, site cleanliness, and efficient work practices. Responsibilities include assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems; lifting materials; preparing and maintaining work areas; and traveling to different jobsites on short notice.

Qualifications

  • Education: HS diploma or GED; 1–3 months of related construction experience preferred.
  • Prior electrical or construction labor experience is preferred.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the electrical systems at jobsites while maintain a clean, safe, and efficient construction site and supporting the overall project.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
  • Complete all required Safety documentation
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
  • Lift, carry and hold building materials, tools and supplies
  • Support in the assembly of electrical components and equipment
  • Assist with routine maintenance and repairsProvide assistance on the site as needed
  • Prepare and maintain work sites, including the handling of materials and tools
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored
  • May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent(GED) or one to three months of related experience in construction and/or training or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred
  • Prior experience in electrical or construction labor is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Take reasonable care of you own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company’s Zero Injury principles
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
  • Be able to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards

Working Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
