Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting in Berryville, AR is seeking a Laborer-Construction to support our field crews. You will learn safety procedures, assist with blasting sites, and perform general labor tasks on outdoor job sites.

Starting pay is $20.00 per hour, plus a $150 weekly travel allowance, with pay increase incentives as you train and demonstrate deliverables. This role offers benefits, travel opportunities, and room to grow with the company.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a background check for ATF.
• Ability to learn safety practices and construction labor tasks.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and company policies.
• Submit weekly time cards accurately and on time.
• Learn safety aspects of construction sites and explosives handling.
• Perform general laboring tasks and take direction from supervisors.
• Work unsupervised when required and assist with site cleanup.
• Assist with blasting-related setup and transporting materials.
• Support Foremen in meetings and daily briefings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

LABORER-CONSTRUCTION

Ability to perform job specific instruction provided by Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators. Individuals must be safety-minded and able to work well in varying weather environments. Out of town travel and overtime may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to Company Safety procedures and policies

• Submit the following records to Blaster/Foreman on a Weekly basis: Accurate and Signed Time Card
• Ability to quickly learn safety aspects of working construction sites and working around explosives
• Ability to take direction and perform construction laboring activities
• Ability to work unsupervised occasionally
• Pump blast holes dry with water pump
• Load and unload explosives from truck
• Carry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holes
• Maintain clean and organize job site
• Participate in monthly Foreman, periodic safety and job meetings as needed
• Participate in daily heads up safety meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid Drivers License with good driving record and own transportation
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug screen.
• Must successfully pass criminal background check for ATF
• Experience with construction laborer helpful, but not necessary
• Ability to learn and develop skills to later perform higher level tasks

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential functions of the position
• Position requires proficiency to work at a steady pace on uneven and loose surfaces outside
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, 5% of time
• Ability to lift 50lbs, 50% of the time
• Stooping and bending 60 – 70% of the time

Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour plus $150/week travel allowance. Pay increase incentives as you train and hit target deliverables.
