Job summary

TAK Broadband is seeking an underground Laborer with a Class A CDL to join our Missoula, MT team. You will assist drill operators and locators, working around live utilities to support fiber builds across diverse terrain.

This full-time role offers weekly pay, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for growth. You will gain hands-on training in conduit splicing, vault placement, and site restoration while maintaining safety as the top priority.

Qualifications

• Experience in underground telecommunications construction or installation preferred; entry level considered.
• Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID; driver's license if driving is involved
• CDL required

Responsibilities

• Assist drill operators and locators with equipment to complete projects
• Work around live utilities in standard and high-risk areas
• Learn about utility depths and placements
• Maintain vehicles and tools in safe, good repair
• Document work, logs, and field changes as needed
• Support conduit splicing and fiber/coax placement as needed

We are seeking anunderground Laborer with a Class A CDL (REQUIRED) to join our team in Missoula, MT. In this role you will assist our underground drill teams to complete assigned projects working around both standard and high-risk areas with live utilities.

The Role

• Assist drill operators and locators with equipment to complete assigned projects
• Will work in and around both standard and high-risk areas with live utilities
• Will learn about utility depths and placements
• Ensure vehicles, equipment and tools are properly maintained, in good repair and secured in a safe manner
• Review field designs and work with drill team to communicate discrepancies to supervisor for change orders
• Properly document all work completed to include pothole and bore logs
• Will learn and assist with conduit splicing, vault/pedestal placement and fiber/coax placement as needed
• Complete general restoration and cleanup
• Complete all projects with safety as the #1 priority, ensuring compliance with internal safety standards and all governmental orders
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Underground telecommunications construction or installation experience (entry level will not need experience but also seeking those with experience and CDL)
• Ability to travel daily, out of state as needed, with company provided accommodations and per diems
• Ability to work outside of business hours when needed, overtime, holidays, evenings, weekends etc., in all seasons
• Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• High level of energy, motivation and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, shifting from one task to another without interruption
• Ability to work with a noise level from moderate to loud
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70lbs as needed
• Ability to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces or elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing in all weather conditions year round
• Ability to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and tools
• Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
• Class A CDL REQUIRED for this role
• Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
