Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Apprentice responsible for learning the trade while assisting with preparation, handling, and supplying materials for other crafts.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5x7x16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend motor and grout
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and debris removal, including sweeping, washing, and loading or burning debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Build relationships with team members from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Apprentice Aptitude Program
• Preferred experience in construction
• Ability to operate tools and equipment such as power and hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork skills, positive attitude, professional customer service, detail-oriented, active listening, and effective communication
• Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Note: Duties may change; lifting over 50 lbs requires assistance or equipment.
