Work Days: 3 - 5 per week including weekends
Hours of Operation: 8:00AM to 4:30PM
Season Length: April - September
Approx hrs/wk: 24 - 40

Definition:

Under direction of a supervisory official, performs varied types of manual and unskilled laboring work and may drive a truck in connection with laboring work on occasion; does other related duties as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Loads, lifts, and moves supplies, furniture, and equipment;
2. Collects rubbish and other refuse;
3. Rakes and sweeps;
4. Cuts grass; trims hedges;
5. Waters lawns, flowers, and vegetable beds;
6. Loads and unloads trucks;
7. Performs general painting work;
8. Shovels gravel and sand;
9. Cleans up underbrush, foliage, vines, and weeds;
10. Loads debris into truck for removal;
11. Occasionally drives trucks;
12. Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.

Requirements:

Ability to: Perform manual tasks either alone or as a member of a group; perform heavy manual labor for prolonged periods under varying temperatures and climatic conditions; follow prescribed procedures; utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units; read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable
