Job summary

Bluestar Resort & Golf in Peoria, AZ is seeking a Laborer 1 for the Landscape Maintenance Team. This entry-level position is responsible for the upkeep and manicuring of all landscaped areas and hardscapes within the community, under the direction of the Crew Leader, Foreman and Superintendents.

Full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for medical, dental and life insurance plans after 60 days, plus PTO, holidays and a 401(k) after 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manicure all landscaped areas and hardscapes within the community.
• Follow directions from Foreman, Superintendent, and Crew Leader.
• Work safely and use required personal protective equipment.
• Report unsafe conditions or accidents to supervisor.
• Communicate daily with supervisors about tasks and maintenance needs.
• Refuel and reload materials for the day and inspect vehicles as directed.
• Maintain and clean equipment and report issues promptly.
• May work overtime or weekends for special events.

Trilogy® at Vistancia®: Golf Club & V’s Taproom

Trilogy at Vistancia is comprised of three feature club experiences, the golf club, the original community centerpiece, Kiva Club, and the recently introduced Mita Club. The golf course, the feature restaurant, V's Taproom, the full-service Alvea Spa, and the events & weddings venue are all available to the public.

Where: Peoria, 40 minutes west of Scottsdale & Northwest of downtown Phoenix, Arizona

Pay: $18 per hour

Benefits:

New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.

Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

Part-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.

All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a member of the Landscape Maintenance Team, the Laborer 1 position is responsible forthe upkeep and manicuring of all landscaped areas and hardscapes within the community.This is an entry-level position that accepts direction from the Crew Leader, Foreman, and Superintendents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs upkeep and manicuring of all landscaped areas and hardscapes within the community.
• Follow directions and perform tasks given under the supervision of the Foreman, Superintendent, and Assistant Superintendent.
• Work in a safe manner and use all personal protective equipment (safety gear) assigned.
• Be aware of safety requirements and report unsafe conditions or accidents to supervisor.
• Communicate daily with supervisors to report challenges about work tasks, concerns about the landscape, or maintenance suggestions to improve efficiency.
• Perform daily vehicle refueling and reloading of materials and vehicle inspection as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain and clean all equipment daily and promptly report equipment issues to mechanic or supervisor.
• May occasionally be requested to work overtime or during the weekend to assist during special events when extra labor is required (i.e. weddings, tours, openings, etc.).
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works in an outdoor environment.

• There may be frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
• Outdoor environments may require parking and working in residential areas. Obstacles include, but are not limited to, pedestrians and city street traffic, walking while carrying equipment or driving a vehicle on property pathways or variable terrain, water, plants and the natural landscape. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, and falls.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to Arizona desert wildlife such as snakes, scorpions, spiders, bobcats, javelinas, etc.
• There may be occasional exposure to precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can vary depending on the equipment or machines used.
• Employees are required to wear all assigned personal protective equipment.
