Join to apply for the Laborer role at SA Recycling.

We are looking for dependable and safety‑minded individuals to join our team as a Laborer. In this role you will be responsible for unloading, inspecting, processing and disassembling various types of scrap metal; conducting yard clean‑up and maintenance; and performing other general physical labor duties to ensure the highest quality of scrap material is processed and shipped to our customers safely and effectively.

Position will work outdoors in varying weather conditions. SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Current working hours are from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturdays. Overtime hours may be scheduled.

Responsibilities of a Laborer:

• Provide a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.
• Direct and assist customers to the proper location for unloading material.
• Inspect incoming material to identify non‑conforming or unacceptable types of scrap metal and debris.
• Identify and grade acceptable ferrous and nonferrous material and identify material for upgrade potential.
• Prepare autos for processing, such as the removal of designated parts, fluids, etc.
• Operate equipment such as a forklift and skid steer to load, unload, and move material around the yard.
• Perform daily inspections on equipment, reporting any defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
• General clean up and yard maintenance including but not limited to digging, sweeping, and maintenance of weeds and brush.
• Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
• Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and SA Recycling safety, health, and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications of a Laborer:

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 year of previous general labor experience in the scrap metal or construction industries preferred.
• Skid Loader/Skid Steer/Forklift experience preferred.
• Bi‑lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.
