Wood is seeking a construction-support professional to interpret work orders, determine required materials, and use equipment safely on site. You will read measurements, handle tools, and adhere to safety protocols to avoid hazards and ensure smooth operations.

Ideal candidates can work at heights, perform basic shop math, and assist skilled craft personnel across projects in a diverse team environment. This role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and practical problem solving.

Qualifications

• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Work at heights without fear.
• Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures, and objects.
• Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Follow the rules of safe conduct always.
• Employee must be able to use standard and/or metric rule to measure.
• Demonstrate ability to use whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to add, subtract, multiply and divide and be able to accurately follow instructions.
• Identify, recognize and demonstrate safe usage of power tools and hand tools appropriate for the job.
• Demonstrate ability to work with a craft person.
• Identify, recognize and select appropriate materials related to specific crafts.
• Identify, explain, and perform crane hand signals.
• Demonstrate ability to assist craft person.
• Demonstrate ability to perform manual excavation.
• Work using all the safety equipment that OSHA requires as well as what is required by the client.
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards, while following all waste handling guidelines.
