Job summary

BL Harbert International in Tulsa, Oklahoma is seeking a construction laborer to read plans, follow safety rules, and support outdoor work on active job sites.

You will assist with material handling, scaffolding, concrete finishing, and other tasks to help keep the project on schedule and maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Education – High School Diploma (or GED / High School Equivalence Certificate)
• Must understand safety rules and directions
• Able to work outdoors in various weather

Responsibilities

• Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities.
• Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
• Smooth or finish freshly poured cement or concrete, using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools.
• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
• Position, join, align, or seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections or pipes.
• Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
• Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures.
• Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts

• Able to comprehend documents such as safety rules, have the ability to understand information, ideas, direction and then be able to perform the task or project discussed. Also, to be able to ask questions to insure you understand the information given.
• Must be able and willing to work outside in the elements.
