Job summary

GARNEY is seeking a Laborer to support our construction crew, learning essential skills and starting a career in construction. You’ll earn a competitive weekly pay starting at $20 per hour, with industry-leading benefits and overtime opportunities.

Responsibilities include assisting the crew with daily tasks using various tools and equipment, and performing material handling and concrete/asphalt work as required. Garney provides training and requires OSHA 10 and Fall Protection certification.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work on feet for an entire day.
• Willing to complete OSHA 10 (provided by Garney).
• Willing to complete “Fall Protection Certification” (provided by Garney).
• Must be willing to work overtime.
• Must have access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Operate pneumatic and electrical tools like vibrators, saws, jackhammers.
• Lifting and carrying materials on site and pouring/conveying concrete or asphalt with hand tools.

What You Will Be Doing

The Laborer position is focused on assisting the crew with the completion of daily tasks with the use of a variety of techniques and equipment.

Examples of daily tasks

• Maintaining and operating pneumatic and electrical tools, such as concrete vibrators, compactors, concrete saws, cut-off saws, jackhammers, and hand-operated trenchers
• Lifting, carrying, and holding building materials, tools, and supplies
• Mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete, asphalt gravel, and other material using hand tools
