Job summary

Summerset Marine Construction in Wisconsin is seeking a hands-on labor role to install and remove piers, boat lifts, and waterfront accessories, working from shore and water using hand tools and machinery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Clean MVR
  • Previous experience in a marine or construction environment is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to swim and comfort working on or near water.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, basic carpentry, and machinery.
  • Boater safety.
  • Certification in CPR and first aid is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general construction labor tasks including site preparation, material handling, and cleanup.
  • Assist with the installation and removal of piers, boat lifts, and related waterfront structures.
  • May load, unload, and distribute construction materials using heavy machinery and manual labor.
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of job sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summerset Marine Construction has been providing a full range of lakefront services to its customers in southeastern Wisconsin since 1990. As the largest pier and lift dealer in Wisconsin, Summerset has grown over the years along with its customers’ needs, able to provide the expertise and products necessary for the perfect waterfront solution. Servicing hundreds of clients from Madison to Milwaukee, Summerset Marine provides the highest level of expertise to design, install and support any pier and boat lift system, always on call for any service needs.

About the role

This role involves installing and removing piers, boat lifts, and accessories from shore and water using hand tools and machinery. This role is essential to the construction, maintenance, and repair of marine structures. The work involves performing labor-intensive tasks while prioritizing safety and the ability to work effectively in diverse weather conditions and challenging environments.

What you'll do

  • Ability to perform labor-intensive tasks repeatedly and stand for long periods.
  • Steel toe boots are required.
