Job summary

Alpha Insulation & Waterproofing, part of the Installed Building Products family, is hiring a laborer to support insulation, waterproofing, and restoration projects on job sites. You will assist with material handling, prep, and basic tool use, while adhering to safety rules and PPE requirements.

Ideal candidates are capable of heavy lifting, outdoor work in varying weather, and teamwork. OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus and training is available.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or labor experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Must follow safety rules and wear PPE at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing insulation, waterproofing materials, firestop systems, expansion joints and restoration products.
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare and clean work areas before and after jobs.
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Support skilled trades with measurements, mixing materials, and applying coatings.
• Perform demolition and debris removal when required.
• Assist with scaffolding setup, lifts, and access equipment under supervision.
• Maintain job site cleanliness and organization.
• Follow directions from supervisors and work cooperatively with team members.

• Follow directions from supervisors and work cooperatively with team members

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous construction or labor experience preferred, but not required
• Willingness to learn and grow within the trade
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, crouch, and stand for extended periods
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive attitude
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus (can be provided)

Physical demands:

This role requires consistent physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the workday. Laborers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and perform tasks that involve repetitive motion and working in confined spaces or at heights. The position often involves exposure to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, rain, and dust. Candidates should be capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to safety and detail.
