Job summary

Evers & Sons Inc. in Sparks, NV is seeking a Laborer to support the crew on construction projects. You will operate common hand and power tools and assist skilled workers to complete tasks on time and safely.

The position requires a GED or high school diploma or 1 year of related experience, physical stamina, and the ability to work outdoors. Work hours are typically Monday–Saturday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with safety training provided.

• Strong math and basic tool knowledge.
• Willingness to operate power tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand and power tools including air hammers and cement mixers.
• Assist other craft workers on tasks.
• Measure, mark, and layout openings and distances.

• Report safety hazards to supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and care of tools and equipment.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Must be able to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and other basic math skills to accurately complete tasks.
• Must be knowledgeable of basic tools and able to operate basic power tools such as cordless drills/drivers, jigsaws, table saws, sanders, grinders, air compressors, tape measures, etc.

This position assists several members of the crew in the completion of various tasks to successfully complete a project.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
• Assist other craft workers in doing their job functions.
• Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.
• Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, or compact and level earth using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
• Notify supervisor and address potential safety hazards in a timely fashion.
• Must keep work area, tools, and equipment clean and in working condition.
• Follow all Company policies and procedures and obtain certifications at Company/Client request, including but not limited to BBP, Onsite Orientations, First Aid, CPR, Annual OSHA Training, PEC, H2S.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The role requires frequent physical activity, including lifting, bending, and moving in various environmental conditions.
• Work involves exposure to typical construction site conditions such as dust, noise, and outdoor weather.

Position Type, Travel, and Work Schedule

• This is a full-time position. Typical work hours are Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Flexibility is required to accommodate project schedules.
