Job summary

ORAU seeks a General Labor/Facilities Support worker in Oak Ridge, TN, performing building maintenance, grounds activities, and material handling on-site. You will assist with furniture moves, repairs, and light carpentry, following safety procedures under direct supervision.

Responsibilities include housekeeping, load/unload duties, basic admin tasks, and coordinating with maintenance staff. A high school diploma and 1–2 years' related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and 1 to 2 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials and equipment; follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools; work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions.
• Must work independently on routine assignments after instruction and coordinate with maintenance staff.

APPOINTMENT TYPE

SALARY RANGE

$18.23 - $24.37 per hour

PURPOSE

Provide general labor and basic facilities support services for building maintenance, grounds activities, furniture moving, material handling, and small repair projects. Perform routine manual work under direct supervision while following established safety procedures and supporting maintenance personnel as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform basic internal and exterior cleanup duties

QUALIFICATIONS

Requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, safely use common hand tools, and complete physically demanding work assignments. Must be able to work independently on routine assignments after instruction and coordinate effectively with maintenance personnel and supervisors.
