Klaasmeyer Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Laborer to support Field Operations with hands-on digging, conduit installation, and site restoration. You will work with excavation and trenching teams, assisting with safe, precise work near underground utilities.

The role requires physical stamina, reliability, and a commitment to safety. Travel to local and regional projects may be required; a valid driver’s license and OSHA 10 certification are preferred or obtainable.

Serving the Mid-South with excellence for over 50 years, Klaasmeyer Construction Company is looking for our next Laborer to join the Field Operations team. In this position, you will be assisting our excavation and trenching operations teams by carefully hand-digging near underground utilities, installing conduit channels, and performing complete site restoration following work.

Requirements

What You’ll Be Doing

• Hand digging around existing underground utilities in congested areas where the excavator can't go
• Potholing to expose and verify utility locations before the Equipment Operator gets close
• Laying and installing conduit and innerduct — fittings, couplings, grade, and alignment
• Backfilling, compacting, and restoring the ground surface to pre-construction condition

What We Need From You

• Prior construction or general labor experience preferred; willing to train the right person
• Valid driver's license required
• OSHA 10 and Flagger certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong attention to detail and steady hands — this work requires sustained precision at a small scale
• Travel locally and regionally for projects; out of state work may be required

As one of our most physically demanding field roles, this position entails continuous shoveling, handling heavy conduit, compacting fill material, and standing for full shifts across all weather conditions. • Continuous manual excavation and shoveling throughout the entire shift
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of conduit piping, gear, and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive bending, kneeling, and active labor in open excavations
