Job summary

Hulcher Services Inc. is seeking a motivated Laborer to support railroad derailment response operations. You will lift and move derailed rail cars and locomotives, operate cutting tools, and work on environmental remediation sites and rail construction.

You must be able to work on call 24/7, possess a valid driver’s license, and be prepared for 12-hour or longer shifts in demanding outdoor environments. Training, benefits, and career growth are provided as part of our emergency-response team.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work on-call 24/7 in an emergency response environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to qualify for a Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Experience in outdoor occupations (construction, landscaping, farming) preferred.
• Must be able to use or learn to use tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide ground support for operations.
• Move heavy equipment and detatch/attach chains, blocks, and cables.
• Climb on and crawl under derailed railroad cars and other equipment.
• Maintain and set up equipment with various tools.
• Operate cutting torch, hand and power tools, and welding equipment.
• Lifting up to 150 lbs, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Work at elevated heights on railroad cars, bridges, or in water.

Hulcher Services is seeking a motivated and success-driven Laborer. You will play a vital role in assisting in clearing railroad derailments by lifting and moving derailed rail cars and locomotives, and performs similar duties on environmental remediation sites, industrial locations, and rail construction.

What You'll Do:

• Provides ground support for operations.
• Carries, handles and detaches/attaches heavy steel chains, blocks and steel cables, and other devices.
• Climbs on and crawls under derailed railroad cars and other equipment.
• Cleans, maintains and sets-up equipment requiring use of small and large tools.
• Operates cutting torch, hand and power tools, and welding equipment.
• Lifts 150 lbs. max with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
• Works at elevated heights on railroad cars; bridges, over water, or in water.
• Maintains required equipment service records.
• Assures safekeeping and proper usage of company tools.

• High School graduate or equivalent
