Job summary

LRS is seeking a motivated Laborer at our Atkinson, IL facility to support daily operations, help keep the site clean and orderly, and perform a variety of duties under the direction of the Operations Supervisor.

This role involves physical work, exposure to dusty and noisy conditions, lifting up to 50 pounds (team lift for heavier items), standing for long periods, and using PPE; you will participate in safety meetings and contribute to a safe, efficient waste management operation at LRS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred

Responsibilities

• Help the leadership team with a variety of tasks that support the efficient functioning of the operation
• Keep work area and all surrounding areas clean
• Report all unsafe work conditions or equipment issues immediately to supervisor
• May be responsible to attend to the outside perimeter of the facility, performing various clean up tasks
• Attend and participate in safety meetings
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times
• May perform janitorial duties, as requested
• Perform other job duties as assigned

• Requires working in dusty and noisy indoor and outdoor conditions
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; more than 50 pounds requires asking for a “team lift”
• Requires working in a physical environment that will expose employee to extreme weather conditions
• Requires working for long periods of time while standing; may also frequently bend, squat or go up and down stairs or walk along platforms
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Will work around heavy equipment that may move in and out of the area; must have awareness of the surrounding heavy industrial environment
