Job summary

ExxonMobil in Beaumont, TX is hiring Lab Tester professionals to conduct routine analyses and support product certification in a 12-hour rotating shift environment. This role emphasizes safe work practices, data accuracy, and timely reporting of results.

You will perform bench analyses, follow SOPs, and participate in QC testing while maintaining equipment and documentation. Pre-employment testing is required and training provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, STEM or equivalent industrial/medical lab experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Successful completion of ExxonMobil Pre-Employment Test.
  • Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays; overtime may be required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; candidate is dependable and reliable.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures; can multi-task and work independently.
  • Proficiency with standard computer software, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience with physical property testing and related methods is a plus.
  • Familiarity with flash point, distillation, vapor pressure, viscosity, and phase testing is favorable.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and keep current with laboratory safety practices and report unsafe conditions.
  • Conduct hands-on laboratory analyses on the bench.
  • Follow all laboratory methods and procedures to produce accurate data.
  • Perform Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tests as scheduled.
  • Lead or participate in safe work practice team activities.
  • Complete laboratory reports as applicable.
  • Troubleshoot instruments and notify specialists when deviations occur.
  • Assist with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of equipment and work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

With a population of more than 118,000, Beaumont ,Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, on the Neches River, about 85 miles east of Houston, the nation’s fourth largest city. What role you will play in our team
  • Lab tester are responsible for safe, reliable, and consistent testing of finished products and intermediary streams used for product certification and process quality control in our manufacturing facilities.
  • Perform routine laboratory analyses by following written procedures providing data to internal and external customers.
  • Lab testers work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays; overtime may be required.
  • This position is located at the ExxonMobil Beaumont Complex in Beaumont, TX.
What you will do

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Understand and keep current with all laboratory safety practices and protocols and report immediately any unsafe work condition or equipment to supervisor
  • Conduct laboratory analyses (hands on working on the bench)
  • Understand, keep current with, and follow rigorously without deviations all laboratory analysis methods and procedures to produce accurate and timely data
  • Perform Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tests according to schedule
  • Lead/Participate in safe work practice team activities and actively care for all
  • Complete all laboratory reports as applicable
  • Troubleshoot and notify specialists when instruments deviate from control chart
  • Understand general laboratory QA/QC requirements
  • Participate in Test Method Assessments
  • Assist with the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of equipment and work area
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
About You

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in relevant major (biology, chemistry, STEM, etc.) or a minimum of 3-5 years of prior relevant experience in an industrial/medical laboratory.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Successful completion of the ExxonMobil Pre-Employment Test
  • Work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays; overtime may be required
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Flash point determination, distillation, vapor pressure, viscosity, phase testing etc.
