Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a part-time laboratory technician to conduct high complexity tests and ensure the delivery of quality patient care. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and the ability to perform complex procedures in various testing areas.
Successful candidates will have organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards in a dynamic clinical environment. The role involves working rotating shifts and includes preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Performs accurate and timely processing, testing, and resulting. Provides preventive maintenance, quality control, and customer service. Works in NCH Clinical Lab testing areas, including: CMI, Core Lab, Transfusion Services, POCT, Molecular, Diagnostic Immunology, AP doing high complexity testing, Offsite Labs performing moderate complexity testing.

11:00pm - 7:30am
Rotating weekends and holiday
Awarded Bachelor’s Degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from accredited institution OR equivalent education and training as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations 42CFR493.1489(b)(3)(ii).
American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification, preferred.
OCCASIONALLY: Bend/twist, Climb stairs/ladder, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 21-40 lbs, Loud Noises, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Reaching above shoulder, Squat/kneel.
FREQUENTLY: Chemicals/Medications, Computer skills, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Machinery, Repetitive hand/arm use, Walking.
CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Biohazard waste, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Color vision, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Decision Making, Depth perception, Flexing/extending of neck, Hearing acuity, Interpreting Data, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Peripheral vision, Problem solving, Seeing – Far/near, Sitting, Standing.
