NewYork-Presbyterian Laboratory Technologist - Microbiology (Evenings) in New York, NY is a full-time on-site role. The shift runs 4:00pm–12:00am, Monday to Friday with every-other-weekend coverage and rotating holidays, at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital—the nation’s leading not-for-profit academic medical center.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, NYS licensure, and ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent experience).
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in microbiology.
• Troubleshoot instruments and methods.
• Perform all quality control procedures and assist in the evaluation of new equipment, reagents and methodologies.
• Calibrate and maintain lab instrumentation.
• Research and establish new procedures to improve laboratory operations.

• Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in various areas of the laboratory in microbiology.
• Troubleshoot instruments and methods.
• Perform all quality control procedures and assist in the evaluation of new equipment, reagents and methodologies.
• Calibrate and maintain lab instrumentation.
• Research and establish new procedures to improve laboratory operations.

This position is from 4:00pm-12:00pm, Mon-Fri, every other weekend, rotating Holidays.

Preferred Criteria

• New graduates welcomed to apply ASCP certification
