Job summary

Job Purpose

The role of the Lab Officer is to:

• Maintain lab equipment including 3D printers, a laser cutter, CNC mill, soldering equipment and other equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies and signal generators, etc
• Coordinate with the Office for Risk Management and Compliance (ORMC) on safety and compliance matters
• Supervise students
• Help students with usage of lab equipment

Job Description

• Maintain lab equipment and ensure the cleanliness of the lab
• Produce and enforce safety standards in accordance to ORMC guidelines and requirements
• Supervise students to ensure safety
• Help students who are facing issues using the lab equipment
• Produce training videos when necessary, e.g. relating to safety
• Assist professors who use the lab for their courses to distribute/collect kits, etc
• Assist the Director of Makers@SoC as needed
