Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Laborator y LeadTechnician to supervise and optimize lab operations in Rock Hill, SC. The role ensures accurate testing and leads troubleshooting with the supervision team.

The incumbent will supervise staff, support QA programs, and coordinate proficiency testing while maintaining compliance with accreditation standards. This position requires appropriate MLT/MT certifications and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree and successful completion of accredited MLT Program required.
• MLT Certification with 5 years of experience required.
• MT Certification with at least two years of experience preferred.

Essential Functions

• Provides general and technical supervision over laboratory services ensuring accurate and appropriate completion of laboratory tests.

• Assumes a 'working' lead tech role troubleshooting technical problems and assisting with various assignments.

Physical Requirements

Lifting up to 50 pounds and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Responsible for carrying, pushing and pulling objects. Ability to coordinate eyes and hand to fingers rapidly and accurately in making precise movements with speed. Hand and finger dexterity required. Frequent contact with water (handwashing and cleaning), and biohazardous body fluids, and hazardous chemical exposure. Exposure to noise and interruptions to cause distraction and stress. Responsibility to work in a safe manner.
