Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Northeast in Edison, NJ is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a full-time, Wed-Sun 7:30am-4:00pm shift. You will perform sample prep, basic analyses, and maintain lab records and equipment as per QA procedures.

The ideal candidate possesses a high school diploma, basic lab experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Strong English communication and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.

• Wash glassware, stock supplies and maintain clean work areas.
• Assist other lab areas and ensure safe working environment.

Laboratory Technician (Wednesday-Sunday 1st shift) - Eurofins Environment Testing Northeast - Edison, NJ

• Compensation: USD 17.50 - USD 20 - hourly

The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Performing sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:
• Spike and trace samples
• Prepare reagents
• Bottle samples
• Prepare concentrations
• Separation
• Sonication
• Preparing water andsoil samples for metals analysis.
• Performing digestions with concentrated acids
• Learning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management System
• Learning the Mercury Analysis
• Resolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
• Preparing general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
• Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
• Stocking laboratory supplies.
• Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assisting other laboratory areas as needed.

The ideal candidate would possess

• Comfortable with a fast-paced time sensitive laboratory work
• Ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts
• Ability to useTALS (Laboratory Information Management System)
• Ability to complete work within time and quality constraints
• Can work independently following written or verbal instructions
• Cooperate and coordinate both orally and in writing

Basic Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• High school Chemistry coursework preferred.
• Basic laboratoryexperiencepreferred
• Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Samples will be in coolers packed in ice.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time Wednesday - Sunday 7:30am-4:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Edison, NJ are encouraged to apply.

Pay rate: $17.50/hr + a 15% shift differential

Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
