Job summary

PVH Potomac Valley Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomy support role to process specimens, perform basic diagnostic procedures, and maintain clerical tasks essential to patient care. The position requires a WV PoC license and at least six months of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• West Virginia PoC License.
• Six months of Phlebotomy, Lab Assistant or Cytopreparatory experience.
• Phlebotomy Certification CPT preferred.
• Proficient with basic computer and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for basic diagnostic procedures to ensure accurate results.
• Operate laboratory equipment for basic testing and specimen processing.
• Prepare reagents and solutions as per procedures.
• Perform quality control on reagents and equipment.
• Report test results promptly and accurately.
• Communicate unusual supply usage or patient results to the Supervisor/Manager.
• Perform clerical duties to support laboratory operations.
