Description

Under direct supervision, will be responsible for performing pre-analytical tasks and assisting with analytical procedures for patient testing.

Education

Requires Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in a Hard Scientific Field.

Job Location

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Work Schedule
  • 5 days a week, Tuesday through Saturday - 8 hours per day
  • Shifts are 4pm to 12:30 a.m. or 8pm to 4:30 a.m.
  • 10% shift differential for hours worked between 9pm and 4am
  • $200 weekend differential when hours are worked on Saturday and Sunday
Essential Functions

The following are examples of responsibilities for this position. This list is not exhaustive and management may assign other duties as needed.

  • Assist with testing all methods approved by CAP and CLIA under CLS supervision.
  • Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff as appropriate.
  • Assist in process improvement activities related to quality, safety, and documentation.
  • Support the implementation of new test methods and interact with vendors on special projects.
  • Participate in technical studies to improve or validate testing methods.
  • Work closely with CLSs, report issues to supervisors or directors.
  • Assist with instrument maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Monitor reagent and supply inventory.
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and assay materials according to SOPs.
  • Organize patient specimens and testing worksheets for CLS review.
  • Assist in writing SOPs and departmental documents.
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality assurance policies.
  • Perform other duties as required.
