Job summary

Legor USA in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations, quality control, and analytical testing using XRF, ICP, titration, and pH measurements. You will document results and collaborate across teams to ensure accurate coatings and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a chemistry or metallurgy background (Bachelor's or Associate’s) and hands-on experience with wet chemistry, XRF, ICP, and understanding solution chemistry and laboratory safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree with science/technical background.
• Experience with wet chemistry and titrations preferred.
• Familiarity with XRF, ICP and analytical instrumentation desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical analysis and titrations on lab and customer samples.
• Operate and maintain instruments (pH meters, hydrometers, refractometers, XRF, ICP).
• Conduct quality control testing for production solutions.
• Prepare and analyze customer samples for testing.
• Document results and generate reports; maintain lab records.
• Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and in person.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and service.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support laboratory operations, quality control activities, and technical analysis while working with advanced analytical equipment and chemical processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical analysis and titrations on laboratory and customer samples.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments including pH meters, hydrometers, refractometers, titration equipment, XRF, and ICP systems.
• Conduct quality control testing for production solutions.
• Maintain and replenish internal laboratory solutions and chemical baths.
• Prepare and analyze customer samples submitted for testing.
• Collaborate with technicians, sales managers, production personnel, and support staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Perform coating thickness measurements using XRF technology.
• Assist with chemical refining processes and electroplating solution maintenance.
• Document analytical results, generate reports, and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Participate in customer visits, trade shows, equipment installations, demonstrations, and training activities as needed (optional travel).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Metallurgy, or a related scientific discipline preferred.
• Associate’s degree in a scientific or technical field, combined with relevant laboratory or industry experience, will also be considered.
• Ability to perform basic chemical calculations and apply logical problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with chemicals, including acids and plating salts.
• Familiarity with wet chemistry analysis and acid/base titrations preferred.
• Experience with XRF thickness measurements and analytical instrumentation is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of ICP analysis is considered a plus.
• Understanding of pH measurement, solution chemistry, and laboratory documentation practices.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to laboratory safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
