Job summary

Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join a Blackfeet Community Hospital project in Browning, MT. This 13+ week assignment offers 40 hours per week and may require day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

The ideal candidate holds a 2-year associate's degree in medical technology/CLS, certification as a Medical Technician, and 2–3 years in a clinical lab with phlebotomy experience. Knowledge of microbiology is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate's degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.
• Certification as a Medical Technician by a recognized certifying body (e.g. ASCP, AMT)
• 2-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Phlebotomy required.
• Knowledge in microbiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze clinical laboratory specimens using diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare patients and collect blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Prepare patients for other specimen types such as urine and stool.
• Review, verify and report patient results.
• Proficient in major clinical lab areas: chemistry, hematology, coagulation, serology, urinalysis, molecular testing.
• Perform, update and/or review Quality Control, Calibrations, and Maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and collect blood specimens utilizing venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Prepare patients for collection of other specimen types such as urine and stool.
• Review, verify and report patient results.
• Must be proficient in major areas of the clinical laboratory, such as clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation, serology, urinalysis, and molecular testing.
• Perform, update and/or review Quality Control, Calibrations, and Maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
