Job summary

Eurofins USA Environment Testing in Middleborough, MA seeks a Laboratory Technician I to perform basic sample preparations, simple analyses, and custodial duties. The role is full-time, Mon–Fri, 11:00am–8:00pm, with 40–45 hours weekly and a pay of $19–$20 per hour (DOE).

Ideal candidates hold a science-related bachelor’s degree, can work nights/weekends when needed, and are proficient in Word/Excel. Pre-employment screens apply.

Job Description

As the Laboratory Technician I, you will perform basic sample and standard preparations, and simple analyses, and/or sample custodial duties.

This position is full time Mon-Friday 11:00am-8:00pm. The average work week is 40-45 hours depending on business needs. Compensation $19-20/hour (DOE)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to:

  • Follow laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the receipt and handling of sample, preparation of samples, solutions and/or reagents, and bottle preparation.
  • Perform simple analyses or instrument utilization to provide data that will not be directly reported to a client.
  • Perform sample custodial duties including sample inventory upon receipt, sample storage, and sample disposal.
  • After proper training, accountable for accurate documentation in accordance with ESS Laboratory policy and SOPs.
  • Assists chemists and other technicians as needed.
  • Participates in the management of hazardous waste by ensuring hazardous waste is properly stored and disposed of.
  • Responsible for proper disposal of samples, digestates, extracts and reagents into satellite containers.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment
  • Meets all quality criteria as specified in QA manual.
  • Works and communicates with personnel of own and other departments
  • Continually aware of and meets holding time/commitments required by external and internal clients.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned, including, but not limited to, clerical duties to support the team
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science related field is preferred
  • Exceptional attentiveness to detail, with ability to learn and understand technical terms
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and work nights and weekends when needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic laboratory experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Final candidates must pass a pre-employment background and drug screen requirements
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
