Job summary

Agropur is hiring a laboratory technician to perform sample preparation and testing, operate and maintain lab equipment, and document results. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to GLP/GMP and SOPs.

The position offers a starting rate of $22.59/hour with a $1.50/hour night shift differential, generous PTO, medical/dental/vision, a 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or coursework in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology preferred.
• Equivalent mix of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and test chemistry and/or physical samples.
• Operate, calibrate, clean and maintain lab equipment.
• Analyze and report data, confirm with senior staff.
• Document data accurately in logs, spreadsheets and systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock supplies; follow SOPs and GMP/GLP.
• Adhere to safety protocols and keep the workspace hazard-free.
• Troubleshoot with supervision and follow safety policies.

Your role in achieving results

• Perform chemistry and/or physical sample preparation and testing.
• Responsible for equipment operation, calibration, cleaning and minor maintenance.
• Analyze and report laboratory data, verifying interpretation with more senior Technicians or leadership.
• Accurately enter all required data into log books, spreadsheets and the reporting system as appropriate.
• Perform general lab cleanup and organization; restocking supplies as needed.
• Follow work instructions set forth by Test Procedures (TPs), Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Maintain a clean work place that is free of safety hazards.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot issues or concerns with Supervisor/Management.
• Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices.
• Safety Protocol
  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.

Education Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's Degree or some coursework in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
