Etalon is a privately held Silicon Valley biotechnology company that has developed a revolutionary veterinary genetic profiling service. Primarily about the preclinical and agricultural markets, the initial focus of Etalon’s service is on the horse as a model species and has recently undergone expansion to include a canine focus. We are seeking a Laboratory Technician I to join our growing team. This full-time position offers significant potential for growth for the right individual. This role requires 100% onsite attendance at our Redwood City office.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

● Managing sample inventory, and processing

● Executing standard molecular biology protocols including DNA extraction

● Collaborating with others for research

● Summarizing data into presentations and reports

● Data entry and organization

● Sample transportation

● Quality Control

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field

● 1 year of post-graduate wet lab experience

● Ability to independently develop and troubleshoot laboratory protocols

● Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written

● Ability to work both independently and with teams

● Ability to prioritize work demands, and coordinate research protocols with other team members

● Excellent organizational skills and careful attention to details

● High level of self-motivation and integrity

● Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position based onsite in Redwood City, CA.
Hourly Rate: $27.00 – $29.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
