Job summary

The Laboratory Technician I at Eurofins Scientific in Lafayette, CO will support the processing and analysis of samples in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

You will follow quality systems, maintain accurate records, and assist with data entry into the LIMS while ensuring timely and compliant test results.

Qualifications

• AS or BS degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
• Minimum 0-2+ years of plating, plate reading, and sample prep experience.
• Experience with aseptic technique and LIMS is preferred.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays; US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.

Job Description

The Laboratory Technician I receives sufficient authority from, and isaccountable to the Laboratory Supervisor or appointed designate for thesuccessful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities and hasthe authority to take action necessary to carry out the duties andresponsibilities of this position and to identify the occurrence of
departures from the quality system or from the procedures forperforming tests and/or calibrations, so long as such action does notdeviate from established company guidelines, is consistent with soundtechnical and business judgment, and follows the practices of thelaboratory

Laboratory Technician I Duties Include but are not Limited to the Following:

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Reads, understands and follows management system requirements as relevant toresponsibilities, including but not limited to requirements found in the Quality Manual,SOPs, Local Work Instructions and Methods which in turn ensures compliance withISO/IEC 17025/AOAC ALACC requirements and relevant government regulatoryrequirements
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations relative to assigned analyticalwork; maintain and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment
• Registration of incoming samples (as needed), maintaining a neat and accurate recordsystem of work performed on a daily basis and as needed for quality control tests orregulatory purposes
• Enter the sample data into Eurofins eLIMS system in a timely and accurate manner
• Complete laboratory testing on all incoming samples in an accurate, efficient and timelymanner; ensure sample turnaround time goals are met or exceeded
• Verify results and submit results to the appropriate personnel for transmission, in atimely manner
• Identify process difficulties and report these together with proposed solutions tosupervisor
• Maintain a perpetual state of readiness and willingness to respond to the queries andneeds of clients, staff, and co-workers
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees. Communicateorally and in writing to co-workers. This includes “intra” and “inter” departmentalemployees
• Promote the company image through the exercising of sound and ethical businesspractices as related to the public and our customers
• Continually strive to improve the quality of work we provide to our clients throughexisting and new technologies
• Identify non-conformances and out-of-specifications
• Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Education Qualifications:

AS or BS Degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology,Biochemistry or a related field.

Basic Minimum Work Requirements:

• Minimum 0-2+years of experience in plating, plate reading,and sample preparation
• Experience with aseptic technique, LIMS, and prior laboratory experience preffered
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Responsive problem solver and action oriented
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Position isfull-time workingMonday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm,andadditional hours as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance to Lafayette, CO are encouraged to apply.
