Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to perform routine and non-routine chemical and metallurgical analyses at our Climax, Colorado site. You will prepare samples, maintain instrumentation, and support reporting under a safety-focused team.

On-site employees may receive a $1,450 monthly housing allowance; a competitive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and tuition assistance. Associates degree preferred; shift may include non-standard hours.

Qualifications

• Proficient in math, chemistry, and basic computer skills.
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks at assigned site.
• May collect samples from rail cars or trucks in some locations.
• Prepare samples for analysis using established tests and techniques.
• Assists with/performs routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Perform other duties as required

• Demonstrated knowledge of math, chemistry and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $21.00 - $29.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
