Job summary

Pharmaceutical Company is seeking an AIP Technician Assistant to provide laboratory support for necropsy and histology studies involving rodent and non-rodent safety studies. The role emphasizes GLP compliance, SOP adherence, EHS standards, and animal welfare considerations.

You will assist with necropsy, tissue collection, histology, and pathology operations, maintain traceability, documentations, and support study setup under supervision of pathologists and scientists.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma/equivalent with 1–3 years of relevant experience, OR Associate's degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: Associate's degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in GLP laboratory environments and basic knowledge of histology, pathology, or animal science.

Responsibilities

• Support study setup and preparation for necropsy and histology activities.
• Assist with laboratory activities for both GLP and non-GLP studies.
• Train to perform necropsy and histology techniques according to established SOPs and study protocols.
• Support proper collection, handling, labeling, and submission of specimens.
• Maintain accurate documentation and chain‑of‑custody records for specimens and outsourced work.
• Work closely with Pathologists, Laboratory Managers, Scientists, and Technicians to support study activities.
• Ensure proper use, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment and work areas.
• Maintain complete traceability and accurate documentation of work and specimens.
• Identify, document, and help resolve data or documentation errors.
• Follow all applicable GLP, laboratory safety, PPE, EHS, and animal welfare requirements.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy, quality, and efficiency while managing multiple laboratory activities.

Preferred Technical Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

• Necropsy
• Tissue collection
• Paraffin embedding
• Microtomy
• Animal science or laboratory research
• GLP laboratory environments
