G-3 Chickadee invites a Laboratory Technician to join our Houston team, supporting process control, product quality, and release decisions.

You will perform laboratory tests, validate results for accuracy, and communicate findings for safe and efficient plant operation, using established procedures and systems.

Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to work rotating shifts are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful completion of a minimum of 20 semester hours of college level chemistry including: General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Quantitative Chemistry and/or Instrumental Analytical Chemistry
• Previous experience in instrumental laboratory testing can be substituted for up to four (4) hours of the required chemistry hours
• Successful completion of pre-employment screenings
• Ability to work any and/or rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests to support process control and finished product grading.
• Evaluate test results for accuracy, consistency, and logical alignment with expected outcomes.
• Enter results into computer systems with a high degree of accuracy.
• Communicate special or time‑sensitive results
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and perform minor maintenance on laboratory instruments to ensure reliable operation.
• Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Safely lift and move up to 50 lbs (e.g., boxes of glassware).
