Laboratory Technicians in the Environmental Chemistry Section participate in laboratory activities related to the analysis of environmental and biological samples for contaminants such as polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), pesticides, heavy metals, and other industrial and environmental contaminants. The primary biological matrix analyzed is fish tissue, along with other matrices including meat, deer liver, wild game tissues, water, and soils. Samples are often at trace levels, requiring application of complex laboratory methods, practices, and regulations.
Education: An associate's degree in engineering technology, physical or biological sciences, or a related field.
Experience:
Possession of a bachelor's degree with relevant credits may substitute for experience.
