Job summary

Smart Staffing Group is seeking a Laboratory Technician – Clinical Lab Technologist for our client in Syracuse, NY. The role requires NYS license or eligibility and entails data entry, specimen handling, and adherence to quality control procedures.

You will perform instrument maintenance, troubleshoot, and ensure patient confidentiality while supporting daily lab operations in a high‑stakes clinical environment.

Qualifications

• NYS license or eligible/permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Ability to distinguish colors required.
• Two years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment health clearance.

Responsibilities

• Enter and retrieve patient data, test requests, quality control data and instrument performance data using laboratory computer.
• Process patient specimens following established protocol, including reference lab specimens and paperwork, timely.
• Perform daily maintenance and minor troubleshooting on laboratory instrumentation and log work.
• Perform patient specimen analysis following QC and analysis methods while observing health and safety regulations.
• Complete multiple tasks timely and accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

• Enter and retrieve patient data, test requests, quality control data and instrument performance data utilizing laboratory computer
• Process patient specimens following established protocol, including reference lab specimens and needed paperwork, in a timely manner
• Perform daily maintenance and minor troubleshooting on laboratory instrumentation as needed, recording any work done in the appropriate log books
• Perform patient specimen analysis following all established protocols regarding quality control and methods of analysis while observing health and safety regulations
• Must be able to complete multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner and maintain patient confidentiality
